Matthew A. Krajniak
Certified Financial Planner®, CFP®, CMFC
Matt Krajniak graduated from Benedictine University in 2004 with a B.B.A. in Finance. Matt worked for a local financial planning firm starting prior to graduating, where he developed his passion for financial planning as well as his skill set working with various calculations and financial planning software. He became licensed to sell securities with Waddell & Reed in early 2006, where he built his practice and obtained his CFP®(r) certification. A believer that education and knowledge provide value, Matt also became a Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor (CMFC), and continues to pursue other relevant designations. He steadily grew his practice for the next decade until making the decision to leave a captive agency and become an independent financial planner.
Matt has dealt with a wide variety of financial situations first hand. He understands what can happen when there is no Financial Planning, no Retirement Accounts, no Savings, and no Plan for the "what if?" moments. He understands the importance behind getting your house in order to prepare for the future. What-if moments vary for everyone, but they can include things like job loss, early retirement, health issues, incapacitation, death, illness resulting in a long-term care need, and other obstacles to having a successful financial plan. He is always full of humor, but takes creating a robust plan very seriously--even going so far as to have the unofficial slogan "We lose sleep so you don't have to."
When not in the office, Matt spends his time with his wife, Reese, and their adopted son Jackson. He and his wife are foster parents in Illinois, and have developed relationships with local staff and other foster parents. He can often be found in the garage tinkering with classic British sports cars, and has amassed a small collection of which he is very proud. Matt has served as the president of the Illinois Sports Owners Association (the Chicago area Triumph club), and is also a member of the Austin Healey Club of America, the Chicago Mini Motoring Club, and is the founder of Midwest Motoring LLC. Matt also enjoys training his Border Collie, Healey, in non-competitive agility courses, and is proud of having taught Healey the names of over 150 toys.
